Dots[Connection]: F/W 2015 Fashion Week is here!

Here is your weekly Draw A Dot. recap!

For the F/W 2015 New York Fashion Week, I invited Francesco Lo Iacono to collaborate with me on a special Draw A Dot. project. In this post, he has illustrated few of the iconic shows from the 1st half of this week. The illustrations are very soft with great details! [Read Here]

Froston is definitely one of my favourite fashion characters on Instagram right now. I am so happy that she decided to work with Draw A Dot. and showed us what she will be wearing for London Fashion Week! Lovely right? [Read Here]

Walk the Walk: Marchesa F/W 2013 Collection

When it comes to Marchesa, there is no doubt you will see a lot of beautiful dresses. For this coming season, Georgina and Keren decide to deconstruct some dress shirts and turn them into dresses. The end result is simply beautiful and stunning. I also really like the embroideries on the pieces and the red reminds me of the Christmas season (pretty sure these pieces will be popular during Christmas events season).

Even thought Marchesa is always about red carpet or special event dresses, I find that some of the pieces in this collection are very wearable, such as the pants and the cape. With that being said, I am excited to see what the designers will be creating for next season and hopefully there will be more high quality everyday wear pieces.

Pros:
- I really love how Georgina and Keren give a twist to the dress shirts and turn them into beautiful dresses and gowns.
- The embroidery on the pieces are amazing.
- The last 6 gowns are simply beautiful. I expect to see them on the red carpets very soon.

Cons:
- The metallic pink gown is just a little bit odd in this collection. If it were in red or black, this might be better.

Eye Candies:
- Red pleated dress
- White sheer dress with embroidery
- Red embroidered bodice gown

Fashionist[On The Go]: Best Dressed Women

These ladies are doing well in the fashion news this week!

Usually I don't necessary with magazine's best dressed people list but this time, I am 100% with People magazine. Gwyneth Paltrow is picked as the "World's Best Dressed Woman" of 2012. If you have followed her red carpet path this year, you should remember the amazing Tom Ford gown and the Prada dress. [Read Here]

Congratulations! You deserve it! (source: the Fashionist

As many of you know, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds had their secret wedding few days ago and of course I am more interested in what they wore for this special occasion. Blake was wearing a custom Marchesa gown while her husband, Ryan, was wearing custom Burberry suit with suspenders designed by Christopher Bailey. [Read Here]

I can't wait to see the wedding image! (source: the Fashionist

Fashionist[On The Go]: The Red Carpet Edition

The red carpet entry has to be one of my favorite entries to see on Fashionist since I will know what are the actresses wearing to the events. This past week there were 2 major events held in the States and let's take a look at them.

This past Sunday was the 2011 MTV Movie Awards and many young actresses attended the event. My favorite has to be Emma Watson in the white Marchesa mini which I love the embellishment around the neckline. Other best dressed actresses were Emma Stone, Blake Lively and Kristen Stewart (surprise!). [Read Here]

Kristen Stewart in Balmain, surprisingly good! (source: The Fashionist)

Monday night was the 2011 CFDA Awards and of course every person who was attending the event had to dress exceptionally well. Lady Gaga once again became the spotlight of the night as she was wearing the custom made Thierry Mugler gown with her green bob wig. Nice to mention that Lucy Liu actually looked very stunning in the black Monique Lhuiller gown. [Read Here]

Guess the green wig will be the new trend... (source: The Fashionist)

Graphicology: "Belle of the Ball"

Another week has gone by and it is time fro us to take a look at the Upper East Side elite circle! It looks like Serena and Blair are getting ready to party hard this week...

"Every Upper East Sider has a ballgown or two or six or twelve in her closet.
One must always be ready for that black-tie affair.

All the Belles of the Ball love to sparkle and shine but which star
will shine the brightest?

You know you love me.
xoxo"

We love both evening gowns and cannot decide who wears better here. What's your take? Apparently, our readers like this story to continue, so what's your take Lisa?

Fashionist[On The Go]: Golden Globe and Kate Moss!

While this week is mostly about menswear fashion week (Paris fashion week right now!), there were a few interesting stories happened around the globe and I have found them on The Fashionist.

The most interesting part of a Hollywood award event is always the gowns the ladies wear. Just past this week, there was the Golden Globe and my favorite person of the night has to be Olivia Wilde in Marchesa. As for the guys,  Robert Pattinson in the Gucci suit has definitely won my heart (and I am not a Twilight fan). [Read Here]

Who's your favorite? (source: The Fashionist)

I would not have imaged putting Kate Moss and Lea T on a cover but Mert and Marcus has made the impossible possible. In the latest issue of LOVE Magazine, Lea T and Kate Moss grace the cover and this kiss for sure will be a controversial topic for quite awhile. [Read Here]

Come back next week to see what stories that have caught my eyes on The Fashionist!
