Ray of Inspirology: Burberry S/S 2014 Campaign

Many brands have already released their S/S 2014 campaigns, and here is the latest one from Burberry.

Courtesy of Burberry/ Mario Testino

Burberry campaign is like a fortune teller, as most of the time it hints who will be the next big British model/celebrity in the world (Edie Campbell, Eddie Redmayne, Cara Delevingne to just name a few). This season, Christopher Bailey has picked British actor Jamie Campbell Bower, British musician Leo Dobson and British models Malaika Firth, Matilda Lowther, Neelam Johal, Callum Ball and newcomer Jean Campbell to be part of this campaign. Once again, the photos are shot by Mario Testino and the models are posed against pastel colour backgrounds to reflect the softness of this season's collections (Brit, London, Prorsum).

Below is the video of this campaign.

Here are 2 behind the scene photos from the campaign:

So which face(s) do you think will be the next big star(s) in the future?

Walk the Walk: Burberry Prorsum S/S 2014 Collection

English Rose is the theme of the Burberry Prorsum S/S 2014 collection and as you can expect, there are lots of rose related products.

I personally am in love with the lace pieces as they look very elegant and light on the models. The gem embellishments add a flare to many of the pieces, especially the PVC translucent jacket. If you are into outerwear, I recommend you to take a look at the cardigans and wool coats. They look so soft and beautiful!

As for the accessories, there is no doubt the Petal bags will be a hit next season and I recommend you to get the rubber flower version. Also, if you visit the online store right now, you might want to consider to pre order the iPhone case, it's playful and elegant.

Aside from the iPhone case, you can also pre order some garment pieces on the Burberry website. Maybe you will want to be one of the first to own this collection?

Pros:
- In love with the rose lace, those dresses look so sexy and light on the models.
- The Petal bag is a must have for this season.
- The final walk of the show really shows the theme of this collection. I like the pastel colour palette a lot.
- There are a lot of relaxing fit pieces in this collection, and I really like the oversized wrap coats.

Cons:
- I wish the sunglasses have a few more colour versions of it.

Eye Candies:
- PVC translucent jacket with gem embellishments
- Lace pencil skirts with gem embellishments
- The Petal bags
- Lavender long cardigan
- Lavender Macramé lace trenchcoat

Walk the Walk: Burberry Prorsum S/S 2014 Menswear Collection

Christoper Bailey finally brought the Burberry Prorsum menswear show to London today and the S/S 2014 collection was a symbol of celebration.

The collection is inspired by Alan Bennett and David Hockney and the pieces are very colourful and sporty. The outerwear pieces are perfect for the spring season and my favourites are the cagoules. If you are into prints, you are going to love the English flowers pattern shirt and also the spot scarves. The colourful Wave sunglasses (even the lenses are in colours) are very trendy and I am also happy to know skinny tie is making a come back.

Overall, this is a well done collection and I am sure cagoules will be a hit next season (you probably will see them appear on numerous editorials). Christopher Bailey, thanks for creating yet another amazing collection!

You can now pre-order most of the pieces at Burberry website and you can even personalize them!

Pros:
- This collection is very sporty with tons of colourful pieces.
- There are a lot of nice knitwear in this collection and they are good for the slightly cool spring weather.
- The Wave sunglasses are cool, especially they come in different colours.
- The cagoule is a must have this coming season.
- And... skinny tie is back!

Cons:
- Would love to see more bag styles. The duffle bag is not really my cup of tea.

Eye Candies:
- Green bonded poplin caban jacket
- Stripes skinny ties
- Spots scarf
- Wave sunglasses
- Red weatherproof bonded cagoule
- Floral print overshirt

[On]Air: Burberry 'Live at 121 Regent Street' launches with Kaiser Chiefs

Yesterday when I was on instragram,  I saw a lot of images from the Burberry account about a certain concert but had no idea what was happening in London. Then I received a press release and everything makes perfect sense now!

Yesterday, Kaiser Chiefs kicked off the Burberry Live at 121 Regent Street music series (a series of ticketed music events) and you guessed it right, it happend at the 121 Regent Street flagship store. Burberry has once again become the pioneer of creating a trend by turning a store into a concert hall. Over 1000 guests attended this event yesterday night and I believe the guests must have had a great time.

This Burberry Live at 121 Regent Street will be open to public in the future so keep an eye on Burberry.com. If I am going to London in the near future, I guess this event will be on my must do list!

Walk the Walk: Burberry Prorsum F/W 2013 Collection

It's impossible not to love Christoper Bailey's creations because he just loves to push the trench coat envelope every season. For this coming season, Bailey applies rubber and animal print to the sleeves of the trench coats. The end result is very stunning and with a hint of the metal accent, the entire collection just becomes very modern and elegant.

I am also fascinated by the use of the metal eyelets and he applies this element in a very creative way.  I think of peacock feathers when these eyelets are combined with the leather fringes. Of course, the last 2 metal accent pieces are something all girls will die for in the coming season.

The biggest surprise of this show was actually not the collection, but the live performance by Tom Odell. His song Hold Me will most likely be stuck in my head for the next couple days. This also shows how much Burberry is supporting new music talents and I truly hope the Burberry Acoustic segment will continue to grow.

Pros:
- I love how Christopher Bailey adds the rubber or animal accent to the trench coat, this move definitely makes the the collection more interesting.
- The metal belt will be a bit hit for this coming season.
- The metal eyelets are a nice touch to many of the pieces, and when they are linked to the leather fringes, those pieces just become more regel.
- The metal accent on the final dress and the trench coats are simply beautiful.

Cons:
- If the metal accent can be applied on some menswear pieces, that will be great.

Eye Candies:
- Black dress with metal straps
- Leather-fringed metal eyelets trench coat
- Metal eyelets black & white blouse
- Metal eyelets trench coat
- Trench coat with leopard print sleeves
- Metal belt
- Metal eyelets big crush bag
- Trench coat with rubber sleeves and metal accent

Ray of Inspirology: Burberry February 2013 Campaign

Burberry has just released the campaign images for February and I just cannot stop looking at them.

The images are shot by Mario Testino and Romeo Beckham continues to be the spotlight of this campaign (the other models in this campaign are Edie Campbell, Charlotte Wiggins, Alex Dunstan and Charlie France). I really like the colour backgrounds as they inject the pop art vibe to these images. Once again, I am in love with the metallic pieces and have to admit Romeo looks very good in that bomber jacket and the metallic shirt.

What do you think of this campaign?

Walk the Walk: Burberry Prorsum F/W 2013 Menswear Collection

Christopher Bailey has no plan to do any ground breaking thing for his Burberry Prorsum F/W menswear collection this coming season (no metallic, big spike studs, animals heads or woods). Instead, he is going back to the Burberry roots and give the classics a modern makeover.

This collection can be divided into 3 main categories: the Classics, the Safari, and the Hearts. When it comes to the Classics series, the Burberry signature tartan is once back on the runway (it's been awhile) and it is used to enhance the Burberry classic looks. The Safari series, in my opinion, is far more exciting because I am a big fan of the military green and also the animal print pieces are really amazing. The animal print sunglasses will for sure be major next season, so are the shoes and the trench coats. To end this runway show, Bailey then introduces the Hearts series as a sweet ending. I love the translucent trench coats as they look like candies to me and they match perfectly with the hearts print shirts and sweaters.

When it comes to Burberry Prorsum, Christopher can do no wrong. Just like what he says in the press release, I ♥ Classics!

Pros:
- As usual, the trench coats are amazing! There a few varieties for this season and my eyes are on the slim ones.
- Christopher Bailey applies the right amount of animal print on some pieces to make the collection stand out.
- I really like the translucent rubber trench coats as they look quite modern and different.
- The heart print series is wonderful as people will not expect such a feminine symbol can make a man look very masculine.
- I cannot stop looking at the shoes and I think those will be the hot items of this coming season.
- Without a doubt, people will be lining up for the satchel, especially the animal print one.

Cons:
- I am a little surprise there are no studded bags this season since the shoes look great with this element.

Eye Candies:
- All the shoes
- Translucent rubber trench coats
- Animal print tote
- Animal print sunglasses
- Reversible stripe knitted donkey jacket
- Bonded felt patch pocket bomber

Ray of Inspirology: Burberry January 2013 Campaign

Burberry has just released the new January campaign and once again, the spotlight is on Romeo Beckham.

Courtesy of Burberry/ Mario Testino

Aside from his appearance, what excites me the most is finally I get to see the metallic pieces in action. The metallic sunglasses are really what I want for this season and they look stunning on Edie Campbell and Romeo Beckham.

The video below will show you how energetic Romeo is during the shoot of this campaign. I really enjoy it!

Trendology: Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2013 Collection

Even though we are still in 2012, the pre fall 2013 collections are already making their ways to the fashion crowd. Today, Burberry is the latest brand to release the images of the pre fall collection.

This collection has a lot of cool prints ranging from abstract to cartoon characters. If you are into colour-blocking, you will be in love with many of the pieces as well.

For the men, I am completely in love with splash paint trench coat and the shoes! The beefeater sweater is very playful and if you are into hearts, you will love the hearts print dress shirt. Also, the abstract animal-print ponyskin trench coat is breathtaking!

As for the women, I am in love with the abstract animal-print trench coats, as well as the zig zag print jacket. The evening dresses are very strong this season and the black dress with mesh detail is one of my favourite pieces in this collection.

This collection may not have a lot of bright colours, but I think it has all the best elements from the previous collections and all of the pieces are very wearable. Now I am excited to see the menswear runway show in January!

Store[opening]: Burberry Chicago Store

On November 29, Christopher Bailey hosted an event in Chicago to celebrate the opening of Burberry's new flagship store.

Unlike the other store opening events, this one was quite special because the focus was on the ArtoftheTrench.com. If you are a big fan of the Burberry website, you should know that Art of the Trench is the place where users can submit their photos wearing the iconic trench coats. In this event, images of Chicagoans wearing the Burberry trench coats were displayed throughout the store.

I also find the exterior of the store to be quite interesting. The iconic check is definitely the focus point of this design and it illuminates at night time.

If you are in Chicago, you should pay a visit to this store as I am sure this new flagship store will have a lot of products for you to buy as Christmas gifts!

Trendology: The Burberry Regent Street Collection

I still remember while I was looking at the photos of the Burberry Prorsum S/S 2013 show, somehow I came across a gold feathered trench coat (image below). While I thought Christopher Bailey might have pulled this piece out of the collection, little did I know this piece actually belongs to a more exclusive collection.

To celebrate the launch of the new London flagship store at 121 Regent Street, Christopher Bailey and the Burberry design team have produced an exclusive A/W 2012 collection for the store. This collection contains a lot of archive pieces, but with a new colour twist. For people who have not had the chance to purchase the iconic pieces back then, this is a good chance for you to head to London and try this collection on. Aside from trench coats, there is also an accessory collection which each piece is also coming from the Burberry Prorsum archives.

Walk the Walk: Burberry Prorsum S/S 2013 Collection

Christopher Bailey continues to explore something new for Burberry Prorsum and this can be shown in the S/S 2013 collection.

Just like the menswear collection, metallic colour was a major element in this show. At the same time, Bailey added vinyl to create fun and modern bags. This time around, the focus point on the trench coats was on the shoulder and sleeve area Aside from trench coats, another major outerwear trend in this collection was the cape. In the show, there were different lengths and designs of capes which girls should be going crazy for them next season.

Out of all the pieces on the runway, the peacock feathered trench coat was probably my favourite piece in this collection. The craftsmanship on it was insane and I love how the feathers created floral patterns throughout the whole coat.

I like designers who continues to explore new elements for the brand and once again, I think Christopher Bailey has done an amazing job for Burberry Prorsum. Bravo!

P.S. If you want to pre-order the outerwear and accessories from this collection, you can do that on Burberry website right now.

Pros:
- Cape is the main focus of this collection and Bailey has created different versions of it. I am in love with the capelets.
- There is a new take on the trench coats. For this season, the coats are more focused on the shoulder and sleeve area.
- Just like the menswear, metallic fabric is seen throughout the show and the addition of vinyl is making this collection fun and sexy.
- The closing of this show was amazing! Bailey sent out an army of models in varies metallic colour trench coats.

Cons:
- I am not really feeling the shoes, I was hoping to see more variations.

Eye Candies:
- Peacock feathered trench coat
- Vinyl & metallic python bags
- Super cropped metallic bomber
- All caplets
- Metallic corset jacket

As many of you know, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds had their secret wedding few days ago and of course I am more interested in what they wore for this special occasion. Ray of Inspirology: Vogue 120

This is the first time in years my jaw dropped when first looking at this Vogue editorial.

The title of this editorial is called Vogue 120 and basically it lists all the most influential people in the fashion industry at the current moment. Of course, the designers and models below are part of the elite group and photographer Norman Jean Roy has completely nailed the assignment! What do you think?

You can read the entire article here (with few more photos).

Ray of Inspirology: Burberry Prorsum F/W 2012 Campaign - July

The new wave of Burberry Prorsum campaign is here and the images continue to be very elegant and beautiful! Once again, this campaign stars Gabriella Wilde and Roo Panes and it is shot by Mario Testino.

Seriously, I think this campaign is one of the best I have seen in this season. I wonder what the images will be for the August campaign! What do you think?
