Object of Desire: Support Mirror In The Sky

Looking to support a worthy cause and a special fashion brand all at once? Mirror in the Sky is a luxury scarf brand dedicated to supporting the people who make its products. This support is accomplished in two ways.  First by ensuring fair wages and secondly by donating 10% of sales to a local organization in Nepal where the company's products are made and where recent earthquakes have occurred.  PHASE is a not-for-profit organization which aims to improve health, education and the livelihood of those living in remote areas of the Himalayan mountain villages. Their overall goal is to lay the groundwork for a self sufficient future for those they help.

Right now Mirror in the Sky is on Indiegogo raising money to launch their signature line of scarves which feature new and emerging artists, designers and photographers. Scarves have a cashmere content and are hand made. From secondary spinning and massaging of the yarn right down to the finest finishing details, this handmade aspect helps enhance the quality and uniqueness of these beautiful pieces of art.

Trendology: Valentino Camouflage-Print Silk Pocket Square

Camouflage is the major element in this season's Valentino menswear collection and today, I came across this wonderful pocket square.

This pocket square is like a hybrid version of streetwear accessory. It is made of pure silk and I love the 2 colour combinations to create the interesting contrast effect. The pocket square is now available at  Mr Porter  and please do me a favour and get it as soon as possible!

Trendology: Alexander McQueen Black and Tortoiseshell Honeycomb Scarf

Tortoiseshell and honeycomb are the elements for this Alexander McQueen S/S 2013 collection and out of all the products I have seen so far, I think this is the most affordable one for anyone who wants to  own a seasonal piece.

The print of this scarf is beautiful as it consists of both the honeycomb pattern and the tortoiseshell image. When it is wrapped around the neck, the tortoiseshell part really stands out, which adds a cool vibe to your outfit.

Trendology: Christopher Kane S/S 2013 Ingredients Cotton Scarf

Christopher Kane always surprises me with his print and for this season, it is all about abstract paint. While many pieces might be a little hard to wear to carry the "Kane's vibe) (you might end up look like a dirty painter if you don't match with the right kind of clothing), I do find this scarf to be pretty versatile.

I personally really like the paint strokes print because it has an organic vibe. If you put on a simple outfit and put this scarf on, you should look pretty sleek and modern. Moreover, it may let people think you are very artistic as well. Overall, I think this is a very cool abstract print scarf and you can now purchase it at Oki-ni.

Trendology: Votary Reversible Deluxe Knitted Scarves

Fall is upon us and recently I have found this amazing knitted scarves and blankets brand from Kickstarter that I want to share with you.

Votary is a new brand based in New York and the designer behind it is Luigi Bianco. Aside from making blankets, he also designs the knitted scarves and I am falling in love with them. These scarves have great designs (I especially love the American flag design) and they look very cozy.  From the descriptions, they are all made in USA, non-scratchy, double paneled (to provide extra warmth) and have reversible design. At this stage, the designer is still raising money at Kickstarter and it has already passed the target mark. I am excited to see these scarves in production and each scarf will be most likely selling at $75US. If you ask me, I think this is a very reasonable price.

Trendology: Christopher Kane All Over Floral Scarf

When it comes to menswear, Christopher Kane is always about print and for this season, it is all about florals. I find this scarf to be quite nice. It is not as feminine as you thought and the baby blue is giving a nice touch to the scarf. Trendology: Alexander McQueen Feather Skull Silk Scarf

After showing you 4 of the pieces I like from this season, I think is about time to show you the staple of Alexander McQueen - the scarf.

I am not going to talk about the monogram scarf as I am sure a lot of you have seen or even own one already. I have seen this one when I was in New York and it is definitely a love at first sight item. The print is refreshing and it definitely screams romantic here.
