Object of Desire: Atelier Swarovski by Viktor & Rolf Fall 2014 Collection

For people who love Swarovski and Viktor & Rolf, you are going to love this Fall season. Why? Because these two power houses have done an awesome collaboration!

This Atelier collection was first debuted in March at the Viktor & Rolf F/W 2014 runway show. For this particular collaboration, Swarovski introduces 2 new elements: the Velvet Rock (crystals coated with velvet), and Frozen Crystal (contrasts matte and sparkling crystal stones in Black Diamond and Jet color ways). The pieces are bold, glamourous and have a hint of mysteriousness.

You can now purchase this Atelier collection online. This collaboration also has a sister line called the core collection (which the price point is a bit lower with no velvet involved), and you can purchase the pieces at Swarovski flagship stores.

Trendology: Valentine's Day 2014 Gift Ideas for Him

Valentine's Day is only a few days away and if you have not purchased the gift for your man yet, may I suggest the following items for your consideration? Quite honestly, I want them all as well.

Nike + Fuelband
If your boyfriend/ husband likes to exercise a lot, then this gadget will definitely make him happy. It keeps track of how much, often and intensely you move every day. It's something cool for a modern active man.

Harry & Irving Bresciani Brown Argyle Socks
A lot of men are stepping up with their sock game right now, so a pair of cool socks will for sure make him happy. This pair of argyle socks is a collaboration result of Harry & Irving and Bresciani. Great colour combo and good for all occasions.

Dolce & Gabbana The One For Men
One of the best colognes in the past year is The One by Dolce & Gabbana. It is a very refreshing scent because of the spicy note. If he is a fashionable man, then I believe this scent will suit him perfectly.

Burberry Prorsum Engineered Print Silk Skinny Tie
I am a tie collector, so there is no way I am not including this gem in this Valentine's Day gift guide. This Burberry Prorsum silk tie is from the S/S 2014 collection and I just love the colour contrast at the tip to make this design special.

Swarovski Jet Hematite Cuff Links
A lot of men do own at least one French cuff shirt, so a pair of nice cuff links is needed to go with this kind of garment. This pair of Swarovski cuff links is simple in design, but elegant at the same time with the Jet Hematite crystal.

Alexander McQueen Black Grain Leather Briefcase
Carrying a nice briefcase will always give a better impression to a client, so if you give your partner a nice modern design leather briefcase, I am sure he will be very happy to receive it.

Tiffany 1837 Narrow Cuff
If your man likes to wear accessories, then this cool Tiffany 1837 cuff will excite him! It is made of titanium and has a very sleek design. A very classy piece.

Gucci Dark Ruthenium Aviator Sunglasses with Bamboo
Let's be honest, who does not want to own a pair of nice aviator sunglasses? The edge of this particular pair of Gucci aviator is the bamboo detail. If your man likes something with a subtle twist, this will be the perfect gift for him!

Stolen Riches Poona Pink Laces
Want your man to step up the shoe game a bit? What about this pair of neon pink laces? Match this with a pair of black dress shoes will instantly add a nice modern vibe to the entire outfit.

Microsoft Surface Pro 2
Last but not least, if he is a tech person, then I highly recommend you to get him a Microsoft Surface 2. It's computer in tablet form. I have tried the first version last year and it actually blew my mind. An expensive "toy", but well worth every penny of it.

Trendology: Swarovski F/W 2013 Collection

Yesterday I had the pleasure to preview the Swarovski F/W 2013 jewellery collection and here are some of my favourites.

This title of this collection is called the Secret Treasures and Nathalie Colin, the Creative Director of Swarovski, takes inspirations from China, India, Venice and Himalaya. Each series truly reflects the culture of that particular place and my favourite one is definitely the Venice series. Furthermore, Swarovski has invited Shourouk to collaborate on a few pieces for the India series, and they are absolutely amazing.

What I like the most about this F/W 2013 collection is the introduction of brooches. I personally think the one from the Himalaya series will be a hit because of its design and the subtle skulls.

Now let me know which piece is your absolute favourite.

As you know, I am a fan of Swarovski so I am very excited to let you know this blog is giving away one of the necklaces from the Tropical Paradise 2013 collection!

I still remember when I was at the preview last year, this particular Translucent Pendant caught my eyes. The 3D beetle shape is cute and the colour combination can work very well with many pieces in your wardrobe. Of course, this particular piece is also one of the highlights in this collection.

At this moment, this site is going to give out this Translucent Pendant to one of you! All you have to do is to fill in the form below and leave a comment on how you will style this necklace. The deadline will be March 18th, 2013 and Swarovski will contact you on the week of 25th. Good luck!

Trendology: Swarovski S/S 2013 Collection

Swarovski's F/W 2012 collection has completely wowed me when I went to the preview few months ago and I thought to myself: there is no way the next collection can top this. Well, I was wrong and I think this collection is probably the best one in Swarovski history.

For this coming season, Swarovski is bringing us to the exotic journey. According to Creative Director Nathalie Colin, the inspirations are from the "celebratory atmosphere of Rio de Janeiro's legendary carnival to the authentic and natural universe of the Amazon rainforest". The pieces are very colourful and can truly capture the spirits of the South America vibe.

One of the coolest pieces is the Texture bib necklace. The print of the leather is printed exclusively for Swarovski and I like how the crystals are embroidered on it. That braided silver chain adds a modern touch to the piece which I think it is a brilliant design.

There are just so many pieces I love from this collection and the images below are just some of my favourites. You will need to check out the Swarovski stores early next year to see this wonderful collection!

Trendology: Swarovski F/W 2012 Collection

The title for the F/W 2012 Swarovski collection is called Kingdom of Jewels so there shouldn't be any surprised to see some medieval inspired pieces. There are actually a lot of things I really like in this collection as they are very colourful, elegant and unique. If you are a fan of Disney, I will recommend you to keep an eye on the Tinker Bell collection. Trust me, you will find something you really like in this collection (aka, the wing ring).

I like skull accessories but not to a point I will want to wear them but after seeing the preview of the men's collection, I have decided to change my mind. The skull ring is definitely my cup of tea and the pendant is also very cool and fun as well!

Below are some of my favourite pieces for this up coming collection and please visit the Swarovski stores this fall to discover more amazing pieces (plus the atelier collection, which I still have not seen it yet!).

Starting this season, Swarovski has a new series called the Atelier Collection. S/S collection consists of works from 4 designers and they are Zaldy, Eric Daman, Philip Crangi and Christopher Kane. Every designer has created some unique jewellery pieces using Swarovski crystals. Trendology: Swarovski S/S 2012 Collection

Yesterday I was lucky enough to see the Swarovski S/S 2012 collection in person and I felt like I entered to the crystal world of Alice in Wonderland. Now let's see what information I have for you here...

This main collection is inspired by the 1960s with a lot of colourful pieces. My favourite will be the Raphaela collection as all the pieces are very chunky and colourful! Trust me, those are some statement pieces. As for men, black crystals and skulls continue to dominate the collection and my eyes are totally on the bag charm right now.

I always have my eyes on the Erika & Eliot collection and for this season, Swarovski is doing an "Around the world"collection and I hope someone can go to UK and bring me back the UK Eliot. Absolutely adorable!

Last but not least, Swarovski continues to work with Disney and this time around, they are producing some amazing Snow White inspired jewellery pieces. Ah, mirror mirror on the wall, how can I get my UK Eliot?

Below are my personal favourites. Head over to Fashionights to check out more photos from the event (or wait for him to upload the post).

Someone please go to UK and get me this! I really want it so badly!

The Snow White inspired ring, oh, so pretty!
