Picture Perfect: Hermes "Super H" Superheroe Scarves

All cloak no dagger.

Leave it to Hermes to show you what a true superhero needs to have!

In this latest animation campaign, the Hermes design team has created the comics movie setting and showcases the new superhero scarves. If you are a fan of Batman, then you should not be a stranger to the bat-signal. In here, it has become the "H"-signal. I really like the concept of it, and I actually have the urge to get one of the scarves!

What do you think?

Wave of Inspirology: Hermès S/S 2014 Campaign - Metamorphosis

Whenever I look at Hermès' website, a smiley face will always be put on my face because of the whimsical illustrations. Few days ago, the brand released its S/S 2014 campaign video and it is equally artistic and entertaining.

Canadian graphic designer/ director Julien Vallée directed this jungle theme short video for the brand. In here, different products from this season take on different roles such as rings as tangerines, wallet as a leaf. The video is whimsical, and reflects the playful aesthetic of the brand.

Wave of Inspirology: Hermès The Orange Box Ballet

Christmas is only 2 days away and today, I want to show you this festive video by Hermès!

This year, the brand has transformed its famous orange boxes into an army of ice skaters. In this video, you have the chance to see their wonderful performance on ice and this is actually a promotion for the site's Christmas countdown page.

After watching this video, I just want Christmas to be here right now! What do you think?

Ray of Inspirology: Aves de Paso

If you are familiar with Hermès, you should one of their signature elements is the scarves. In this latest issue of Harper's Bazaar España, David Sims has done a very nice shoot based on this product.

Karlie Kloss is the model of this amazing editorial and she is wrapped by different Hermès scarves. I like the simple background as it helps to make the colourful scarves to stand out. After looking at these images, I feel like I may beed to visit the Hermès store to look at some of the designs up close.

What do you think?

Trendology: Comme des Garcons x Hermès “Comme des Carrés” Scarves

If you are a fan of Comme des Garcons and Hermes, you must be excited about the Comme des Carrés project. Now, the first wave of the collection has arrived in stores.

The first wave consists of 5 black and white scarves and each of them consists of prints by both brands. I quite like the polka dots/abstract print one as polka dots is the signature element of Comme des Garcons. You can purchase these scarves at Comme des Garcons retail stores and also at Dover Street Market

Wave of Inspirology: Hermès Swinging Silk "la danse du carré"

I love this, a lot!

This is a short fashion film directed by Rosario Romagnosi and it is all about the  Hermès scarves. I think it is a very smart approach to combine the luxurious scarves with the dancing on the dace floor. Overall, it is a very fun and up beat video and it might even make you want to purchase a scarf afterwards.

Simply beautiful.

Director: Rosario Romagnosi
Art direction: Nadège Winter (NWA)

Funkology: Leica M9-P Edition Hermès

Talk about luxury brand meets luxury brand...

Leica has once again teamed up with Hermès to produce limited edition cameras. This time around, they have decided to work on the M9 and wrapped the camera in ocre Veau Swift calfskin leather. There are 2 versions for this camera and they are:

Edition Hermés - 300 in total and it comes with  a silver-anodized Leica Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH lens.

Edition Hermès – Série Limitée Jean-Louis Dumas - 100 in total and it comes with a Hermès camera bag,  200 black-and-white images all captured by Jean-Louis Dumas with his Leica M camera and 3 lenses: Leica Summicron-M 28 mm f/ 2 ASPH., a Leica Noctilux-M 50 mm f/0.95 ASPH. and a Leica APO-Summicron-M 90 mm f/ 2 ASPH.

Artology: Hermès ‘Petit H’ Creative Lab

What will you do when you have leftover Hermès goods? Well, you create art with them!

Since 2009, Hermès has started a project called Hermès ‘Petit H’ Creative Lab which the team turns leftovers into some practical arts. Some of the cool items include a Kelly Bag clock, a cabinet made out of scarves and the cool leather bear sculpture.

What will you do if you have leftover goodies from Hermès? (besides selling them)

Trendology: Hermes x Kongo Silk Scarves F/W 2011

Now this collaboration has caught me off guard!

For this season, Hermès is collaborating with French graffiti artist Kongo for several scarves. Part of the proceeds will go to Kongo’s graffiti collective kosmopolis to support new young artists. I find these scarves to be very fresh as they look very young and modern. Now, are you planning to get one for yourself?

Walk the Walk: Hermes S/S 2012 Menswear Collection

When it comes to Hermes, all I can think of is the word timeless and this collection fits this word perfectly. Even thought there is no particular stand out piece, the material use and the cutting in this collection are great. For people who like luxurious materials but want to keep the clothes low-profile, this collection will be something for them to consider.

Pros:
- It has a very strong Parisian vibe in this collection.
- The shirts and blazers are very well fitted while the pants has a very relaxing fit.
- The material use in this collection is amazing.
- The bright color scarves are nice.

Cons:
- There is no particular signature piece I can pick from this season.

Eye Candies:
- Brown leather jacket
- Blue blazer
- colorful scarves

Trendology: Hermes Kellydoscope

Today I was lucky enough to walking into a Hermes Kelly bag, the Kellydoscope debuts in Asia. This giant Kelly bag installation is measuring 4m high and 1m wide, and made of the same material as the real Kelly bag. This giant Kelly bag provides an In-The-Bag experience; visitors can go into the bag and watch a film about being a Kelly bag. This interactive promotional event is touring around the world, London, Dublin and Hong Kong are in the list. Let's see which country is next!

Walk the Walk: Hermès Fall 2011 Collection

A man always looks good in a suit, especially when wearing the right suit.  Hermès had it all in their Menswear Fall collection -  a very subtle, yet seducing collection.  Véronique Nichanian told us what exactly luxury menswear are with the well tailored blazers, shirt and trench.  Near the end, she pulled off a couple of jumpsuit for some fun.

Pros
- well tailored suits
- tieless collection, replaced with silk
- Hermès signature - the leather
- jumpsuit was quite a surprise

Cons
- the blue was out of place
- a little bit more silk can be used to emphasis Hermès signature

Eye Candies
- the blazers
- the blazers
- and….the blazers!!

Ray of Inspirology: Hermès S/S 2011 Promotion Campaign Part 1

The first 2 Hermès promotion campaign photos are here and they are both from the menswear collection. Right now, the information I have about this series is the male model is Andrea Amadei. I always like Hermès' campaigns simply because each season the brand is telling a story. This time, the ads are clean and I feel like I am in to the fairy tale world of Hermès. I am looking forward to see more photos from this brand.

Wave of Inspiration: Le Nouveau Parfum d'Hermès

The imagery in this video is just stunning!

Hermès has recently released the promotion video for the Voyage d'Hermès and it is absolutely breathtaking! The story line is about how the dove meets the horse but the shooting style is very romantic and I am loving the contrast a lot! You will also need a little imagination to think what each animal means in this video.

Trendology: The variation of Birkin Bags in Paris Fashion Week

A great variation a Birkin bags are presented in the Hermès Spring 2011 RTW collection. This collection of variation of the bag is going to be a hot topic, or to play with the Birkin bag is the next 'matter' after the central theme - horse riding heritage.

Other than the 2 styles, straws and translucent, the Birkin bag is transforming into a tiny little bag that is best carry with your slim fingers, as well as pouches that is very slim.  Jean Paul Gaultier showed us how to carry that pouch with style - wear it on your waist, use it as a belt, or use it as part of your tube top.  That's what we call creativeness meets elegance.

Trendology: Hermès Spring 2011 RTW Collection

No doubt that Hermès is going back to its horse riding heritage this season.  I do not need to further elaborate on how fabulous and elegant this collection is by Jean Paul Gaultier, so instead of looking at the overall collection, let's look at some highlights.

The most amazing rain wear I've ever seen. In Hermès, we are walking away from traditional rubbery raincoat, not even patent material, it is transparent crocodile material we're talking about here.  Skillfully tailored into a jacket with clean edges, this is definitely a revolution in rain wear.  Matching with the translucent Birkin bag, what more can you ask for? Want to know more about the bag, stay tune for the entry tomorrow!

Wave of Inspiration: Hermès Fall/Winter 2010 Campaign

So you have seen the print version of Hermès Fall/Winter 2010 promotion campaign on this blog before and finally the video campaign is here. I really like it because it is very mysterious and it reminds me of Zorro.

This is probably one of the best fashion commercials I have seen for this season!

Ray of Inspirology: Hermès F/W 2010 Promotion Campaign - Full

As we mentioned earlier, we were waiting for the full set of Hermès F/W promotion campaign as we are stunned by the preview.  And it is true that the campaign is amazingly done by Paolo Roversi.  After the fairy tale inspiration, we now have Zorro.  This dark mood of Zorro is contrasting with Hermès' elegance, yet creating a new fantastic chemistry for the brand.  Let's look at the great campaign below.
