Wave of Inspirology: Prada Real Fantasies F/W 2013

The new Prada Real Fantasies video has arrived and once again I am amazed by AMO's storytelling technique!

I find this video to have a strong urban vibe, which fits the aesthetic of both collections' perfectly. As always, AMO uses the collage style to tell the story and in this video, you are able to see some of the iconic pieces from this season. Overall, I enjoy this video a lot and I hope this side project can continue to live on for another 8-10 seasons.

Wave of Inspirology: The Art of Packing 2 by Louis Vuitton

Last year, Louis Vuitton made a short animation about the Art of Packing and it was probably one of the best short videos I have seen last year. Recently, the brand has decided to make a part 2 of this series and after watching it, I feel like I need a Louis Vuitton suitcase and use it to travel around the world.

I wonder if there will be a part 3 of this.

Wave of Inspirology: Prada Real Fantasies S/S 2013

The new Prada Real Fantasies video is here and as usual, I am amazed by the the art direction of AMO.

As you may know, there is not a big connection between the menswear and womenswear this season so it is interesting to see how AMO put these two together to create an interesting video. I like the fact they use the surreal urban landscape theme as it works well with both collections. The video is artistic, but fun at the same time.

What are your thoughts?

Wave of Inspirology: Ego

I usually try not to write anything that is related to my full time job but this video, I just cannot resist not talking about it.

During |FAT| this year, my eyes were completely captured by this video shot by Adam Zivo and it featured the latest collection of Emily Woudenberg, or simply Woudenberg. There is no particular storyline in this video but the message is very clear - Woudenberg and Zivo just want you to be happy and feel the disco vibe. I really like this video because of the colour gel lights, the composition (you can freeze a few frames and they can translate into beautiful photos!) and the music!

I highly recommend you to take 2 minutes and watch this video. Please do, it will make your day.

Trendology: bloggieID

All major fashion weeks are finally over and I am sure you have seen a lot of new faces on the runways. ModelLounge has recently done a very interesting video by showcasing some of the models who have walked the runway during New York Fashion Week. In this video, you will get to know the names of these models and where they are from. I consider this to be a very good resource for all the readers who want to know the names of the models.

Did you find the model you like in this video?

Wave of Inspiration: Pelephone-Canons

I don't usually post commercial that is not related to arts or fashion but this one is one brilliant video!

This video is created by Gravity for Pelephone. I am loving the army idea and the music, color scheme and actors just blend so well together. It's such a fun video and if someone can use some of the ideas to create an editorial shoot, I am sure it will look amazing!

Wave of Inspiration: Rodarte: The Curve of Forgotten Things

Such a lovely promotion video for the fashion house!

Nowness has recently released the short film for Rodarte's S/S 2011 collection and it is starring Elle Fanning, the younger sister of Dakota Fanning. The film has a very strong 70s vibe (if you have seen the collection before, you know the Mulleavy sisters' inspirations are from the 70s northern California, Redwood forests, Asian influence and gold rush) and the plot is very simple: Elle diggs up a giant stone on the ground, explores a vintage house and gives the stone (or maybe herself as well) to the light source, or you can say it is the sun.

Words can't really describe how much I love this film. It is very magical and fairy tale like! Enjoy!

Wave of Inspiration: Animating Chanel

This is probably the coolest video I have seen from Chanel (and it is produced by Nowness)!

This video is directed by Peter Philips and he has transformed the Chanel cosmetic collection into robot, spider, a kid and even Coco Chanel herself! I find this video to be very inspiring and if you love animation, I am sure this will be your cup of tea.

Wave of Inspiration: The Powder Room

How to blend arts and fashion together? I will leave this question for Miuccia to answer it.

For the latest Miu Miu S/S 2011 campaign, the company has invited a few female directors to direct some mini films which is called "The MiuMiu Women’s Tales". The first mini movie of the series is directed by  Zoe Cassavetes and it is called "The Powder Room". The movie is all about the ladies doing their things in the powder room and I find it very interesting. What do you think?

Wave of Inspiration: Prada S/S 2011 Promotion Video

Here comes my new favorite promotion video of the moment!

This video is for the Prada S/S 2011 collection and while I am not a big fan of the print version of the campaign, I am very addicted to the video (mainly the dance!). The campaign features Arizona Muse, Kinga Rajzak, Zuzanna Bijoch, Mariacarla Boscono and Tati Cotliar and the amazing soundtrack is Mirando by Ratatat.

Are you ready for the S/S season? I know I am!

Wave of Inspiration: V.O.W N°2

Impressive! This is what a fashion video is supposed to be!

Below is the latest video shot by Ruth Hogben for Gareth Pugh. This is a mood board for the F/W 2011 collection which he will show in March and the inspiration from this collection is from oil paintings in the church. The modern and gothic twists are very interesting and I am out of words to describe how beautifully done this video is. You have to watch it to believe it.

Trendology: Tom Ford S/S 2011 Runway Video

The secret is finally out!

Back in September 2010, Tom Ford had his come back womenswear show in New York and finally the runway video is released! After watching the video, I love the collection more and they look so beautiful and elegant! If you want to see Daphne Guinness and Beyonce in Tom Ford, then this video is a must see for you!

Wave of Inspiration: To Lee, With Love, Nick

This is probably one of the best tributes to McQueen I have seen in this year!

Nick Knight has recently cerated this short film as a tribute to Alexander McQueen. The video showcases most of the iconic pieces of this brand. Edward Enninful has done an amazing styling job in this video and with the exclusive soundtrack provided by Björk, the video instantly becomes very gloomy and haunting. This is truly a master work from Nick and I hope you can spend 3 minutes to watch this video.

RIP Lee Alexaner McQueen.

Wave of Inspiration: Diamond Dip

Eniko Mihalik, swimming pool, sparkles and crystal lips, these are the information you need to know in this video.

Nowness has recently showcased a fashion video directed by Kt Auleta. In this video, Eniko is "decorated" with all sorts of sparkling makeup such as crystalized lips, crystalized fingers and glittering eye shadows. Eniko looks very classy in the video and her crystalized face is definitely something I will remember for a long time. If you are lack of creative shoot idea, maybe this video will spark some inspirations for you.

Wave of Inspiration: Fox Retro "Pinball"

I admit, I am a huge fan of video games so when I see this video, my eyes start to glow.

This video is directed by Mariano Farias (who is also the art director with Javier Pelayo) and it is for the Fox International Channels. I am totally in love with the colors and also the mood of it. Using the retro pinball game to showcase what shows are on this retro channel is brilliant!

Wave of Inspiration: Wishery

Using characters' voices from Disney movies and create a remix song? Yes, you read this right, it is happening.

Without a doubt, this is one fun concept and the outcome is surprisingly pleasant. Pogo has done many remix songs with this theory but the latest one is definitely my favorite pick at the moment. The voices you hear are from Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs. The melody is very soothing and fresh and now, it is on repeat mode!

Wave of Inspiration: Coachelletta

Sam O'Hare has done an amazing job here!

This video is about the Coachelletta festival back in the summer and Sam uses the tilted lens effect to capture the event. The people look like insects to me, especially when there are some giant nature inspired decorations in some of the scenes. A very refreshing video and I do not think you will want to miss it!

Here is the information of the soundtrack:
Original music by Human (humanworldwide.com)
Composer: Matthew O'Malley
Music Producer/CD: Mike Jurasits
EP: Marc Altshuler

Wave of Inspiration: Dior Homme - Un Rendez Vous

First there is Chanel, then there is Gucci, and now there is Dior Homme.

This short film is shot by Guy Ritchie and the actor here is Jude Law. I have always been a fan of Jude so I feel very excited when he is the face for the Dior Homme perfume. The  video is very dark and some frames can become some nice photos due to the great composition. What do you think? Do you like this short film?

Wave of Inspiration: The Garment That Bleeds

Ever since Edward Finney is on my following list, I have been looking forward to see his S/S 2011 collection. Recently, he has released a video about this collection and it is called The Garment That Bleeds. After you read this title, you might have thought: yeah, I have seen something like this before; however, what is special about this gown is the invisible ink. Once the ink is on the dress, after a few seconds, it will turn invisible. I am amazed by it and this is one of the reason I want to share this video with you!

Now I am excited to see the full collection of his S/S 2011 collection!

Wave of Inspiration: Hermès Fall/Winter 2010 Campaign

So you have seen the print version of Hermès Fall/Winter 2010 promotion campaign on this blog before and finally the video campaign is here. I really like it because it is very mysterious and it reminds me of Zorro.

This is probably one of the best fashion commercials I have seen for this season!
