Picture Perfect: Prada F/W 2016 Menswear Campaign

So glad to see Eddie Redmayne on a fashion campaign once again!

in 2012, Eddie was the face of Burberry S/S season campaign and since then his acting career has taken off. After winning an Oscar award, Eddie is now back to the fashion world and becomes the face of Prada F/W 2016 menswear campaign!

These photos are shot by Craig McDean and they remind me of classic portraits. Eddie is a perfect choice to be the Prada man as his image is classy, modern and willing to take fashion risk.

Now I am excited to see how the womenswear campaign will turn out. We should be able to see it soon.

Picture Perfect: Prada S/S 2015 Menswear Campaign

The S/S 2015 Prada campaign is not the usual "hey look at the clothes" kind. It requires your imagination.

Shot by Craig McDean, this campaign features actors Ansel Elgort, Ethan Hawke, Jack O’Connell and Miles Teller. Each actor is given at least one object, and he is required to interact with it (them). These images will trigger the viewer's curiosity because they have a strong cinematic vibe. For example, I will be interested to know what Ethan Hawke is doing with the scissors & photo.

Overall, I am in love with this campaign and wish I could collect them in poster form.

Ray of inspirology: Into the Darkness

I was reading the March issue of Interview Magazine few days ago and was stunned by this beautiful editorial by Craig McDean.

This spread stars Sasha Pivovarova and she is styled by Karl Templer. I really like these photos because they are dark, mysterious and glamourous. The above LV image is probably my top favourite in this series.

Please visit Interview Magazine to view the entire editorial.

Ray of Inspirology: Field Day

I was at a bookstore reading some of the latest magazines the other day, and this editorial just caught my eyes.

Featured in the latest issue of W Magazine, these lovely images are shot by Craig McDean. I have to give props to Edward Enninful for picking the right iconic pieces of this sesaon, as he made Malaika Firth, Marina Nery, Sasha Luss, Irene Hiemstra and Juliana Schurig look so good in these images. The background creates a very interesting contrast against the models, and the mirrors create depth to the photos. Now I think I am ready for spring.

What do you think?

Ray of Inspirology: All-Ages Show

When you put Daft Punk and Karlie Kloss together in a shoot, you are guaranteed amazing things will happen. Below is a good proof!

In the latest issue of Vogue, Craig McDean has done a great editorial on this cool combination. Karlie looks beyond amazing and the electronic duo injects a nice futuristic vibe to the photos. I am particularly drawn to the Dolce & Gabbana one because Karlie uses the helmet as the mirror, which I think is a very nice idea.

Ray of Inspirology: New Noir

Black and brown; leather and wood; that is exactly what I like to see in a cool editorial.

This series is shot by Craig McDean and features Suvi Koponen. Koponen is wearing some of the coolest black leather pieces from this season and I love the contrast between the wood and the leather. What do you think? Are you feeling the edginess of this editorial?

Ray of Inspirology: Oh, You Pretty Things

Craig McDean has created some magical photos once again!

In the latest issue of W Magazine, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Sigrid Agren and Saskia de Brauw are shot by McDean in this wonderful editorial. It has a very strong rock and roll vibe and all three models are flawless in the images. You know, sometimes this kind of shoot can look very cheesy but props to McDean for making it classy and intense.

Ray of Inspirology: Uptight Urban

Craig McDean, you have just created one stunning editorial for this September issue of Interview!

Styled by Karl Templer, the models in this series include Julia Nobis, Kaitlin Aas, Aymeline Valade, Alyona Subbotina, Patricia Van Der Vliet, Milou Von Groesen, Ruby Aldridge and Corinna Ingenleuf. The styling, without a doubt, is probably the best I have seen in all the September issue's editorials this year. The feeling I am getting here is very futuristic (I feel like I am looking at citizens in the 2050) and the bright colours on the clothes are filling my heart with excitement.  What do you think?

Ray of Inspirology: One of a Kind

Even though Lara Stone didn't walk the Haute Couture week this season, she still gets the chance some wonderful one of a kind pieces for this amazing editorial.

This series is shot by Craig McDean for W Magazine and Lara is dressed in pieces from different designer houses such as Dior, Givenchy, Chanel, and Jean Paul Gaultier. I have to say, out of all the people who have worn that Gaultier gown, she is the one who fits this piece and she can totally show the spirit of this fashion house. The other photo I really like from this series is the Givenchy gown, it is simply stunning. What do you think?

Ray of Inspirology: Starring Amber Valletta

There is something about this editorial that has attracted my eyes. I'd say it is because how "effortless" Amber Valletta poses in these images.

This set is featured in the latest issue of Vogue Italia and it is shot by Craig McDean. I really like the location of this shoot as it gives a very warm and cozy feeling. As I said before, Amber's pose is very "effortless" here and because of that, I can totally relate to her as an everyday person (instead of a model). I am also liking the slightly retro vibe of this shoot. What do you think? Hit or miss?

Ray of Inspirology: So Pure So Modern

Arizona Muse has become one of my new favorite models and in the February issue of Vogue Italy, she has done a very simple but elegant editorial.

This series is shot by Craig McDean and the photos are very soothing for the eyes. The white clothes on Muse create a very innocent image of her and I am loving the lighting of the shoot. It's moody and classy at the same time. What do you think?

Ray of Inspirology: Alexander Wang F/W 2010 Promotion Campaign

My love for Abbey Lee has grown more everyday and when I know Craig McDean is in charge for this shoot, my expectation is high. Luckily, it does not disappoint me at all.

This series is the new promotion campaign for the Alexander Wang F/W collection. I really love how Craig uses the bright hot light on Abbey Lee to create the center of focus. The background of the shoot has made a link to the brand in my brain because I always think Wang's clothes are always rough and edgy (studs all the way). Of course, Abbey delivers very well in these photos and I think she looks very good in Wang's clothes.

Now I wonder how the next promotion ad campaign can top this.

Ray of Inspirology: Blake Lively for Interview September 2010

There is no doubt that I am not very impressed with Serena in the last season of Gossip Girl since I am still pretty clueless why she exists in New York doing random things (at some point I wish her character is killed off). Anyway, at least I am not hating Blake Lively in real life especially she looks so different in this editorial.

In the latest issue of Interview, Blake is shot by Craig McDean in a high fashion prisoner themed spread. Just like the Megan Fox spread in the previous issue, when I look at this series, I somehow cannot recognize Blake at all. She looks elegant and I cannot find the Gossip Girl from her in this shoot (I think that's a good thing). Craig uses the CCTV concept for this shoot and I think it is a brilliant idea.

If I were the photographer for this shoot, I would be very proud of this set. Do you like the photos?

Ray of Inspirology: Christopher Bailey

Christopher Bailey has to be one of the greatest fashion designers in recent years and in this issue of Interview, one editorial is all about him and his Burberry Prorsum womenswear collection.

This spread is shot by Craig McDean featuring Patricia Van Der Vliet, Adrian Bosch and Christopher Bailey. I really love how bold the images turn out in this shoot and the fashion articles created by Christopher are definitely blowing me away. A very strong editorial and I would love to shoot with this kind of lighting in the future.

Ray of Inspirology: Craig McDean For Interview

I always believe in this: clothes make people sexy, not the other way around. This theory has proven to be true in this latest issue of Interview Magazine.

In this issue, Craig McDean has shot an interesting editorial featuring Megan Fox. As you may have noticed before, many photographers like to shoot Megan Fox with as fewer clothes as possible but this is not the case in this shoot. Instead, Craig shoots Megan with the clothes fully on her body and I like it. The photos have proved my point: Megan Fox can be very glamours with high fashion pieces. Also, I am in love with the Mannequin  idea. Megan and the doll are like twins to me and I love their interaction. Overall, the shoot is fresh, edgy, tasteful and sexy.

Here are my favorites and you can click here to read her interview.

Ray of Inspirology: Cate Blanchett for W June 2010

Fierce. Bold. Edgy. These are the words I can come up with when I look at this editorial!

The editorial spread is shot by none other than Craig McDean. I love Cate as an actress and model and every time when she is on some magazine's editorials, she will never disappoint me. In this editorial, you can see her darker personality is shown through her pose and expression. It's intense, is full of power and this editorial will definitely be one of the editorials I will always come back for reference.
