Jil Sander has just released the new campaign images for the F/W 2013 season and it features Edie Campbell for the womenswear.
These black and white photos are shot by David Sims and they look timeless. As you know, Jil Sander is all about minimalism so I think these photos reflect the new collection's (and even the brand) vibe flawlessly. Edie looks stunning here and I wish there could be a short film about this collection with her in it.
What do you think?

Graphicology: Profile Fashion Girls by Janelle Burger
This is a very interesting series illustrated by Janelle Burger and I just want to share it with you.
Janelle illustrates the side profile of each girl in this series. The best part is each illustration contains the signature elements of a particular collection. For example, if you look at the Jil Sander image, you can see the signature paisley patterns for the S/S 2012 collection. I really like this approach as it is very refreshing and unique. If I can ask her to create a piece, I think it will be very interesting to see her illustration on the Alexander McQueen S/S 2013 collection.

Trendology: Jil Sander Black Leather Transparent Heel Corsair Shoes
If I didn't purchase the burgundy Prada briefcase, I would have purchased this right the way.
This pair of Jil Sander corsair shoes is from the F/W 2012 collection. I really like the pebbled leather and the transparent rubber heel. I still remember I was in love with Maison Martin Margiela's plexiglass boots for the women sometime ago and hoped a brand would create a pair of men's shoes with similar technique. Now the dream has become true but unfortunately, the timing isn't right. If you are a shoe lover like me, then you should not miss this chance to get this amazing pair of shoes on Ssense!

Trendology: Jil Sander Black Perforated Mermaid Shoes
For people who like detailed oriented products, I am sure this is the one for you!
This pair of Jil Sander shoes is from the latest (and Raf Simons' last) F/W collection. I really like the "Mermaid shaped perforations at shoe-face and side with blue, peach and yellow fill". The detail is subtle and brings an edgy to the normal dress shoe design. It is now available at ssense.

Trendology: Jil Sander Dinosaur-Motif Silk Tie
It's the last season of Jil Sander collection having Raf Simons as the creative director and at some point, I do want to own a piece to remember the glamour era Raf has created for this brand.
As you may know, the F/W menswear runway collection is all about black, with a twist of cartoon dinosaur print. This tie carries the essence of the runway collection and I really like the dinosaur motif, it makes the tie young and fun. Mr Porter is selling this item right now so you can click here for more information!

Trendology: Jil Sander Men's Camel Blend T-Rex Scarf
Jil Sander does have some funny accessories this season and other than that lunch bag and tie, this is another item I think most of the die hard fans will want to own.
This blue/red T-Rex scarf is made of 50% Camel hair and 50% Wool. I have owned a scarf from Jil Sander and all I can say is, the scarf is very smooth and can keep you warm. If you want to purchase something form Jil Sander this season, this one may be something you can consider.

Trendology: Jil Sander Two Tone Oxford Flats
Finding a pair of nice Oxfords flats for a lady is sometimes a hard task but I think Jil Sander has the perfect one this season.
Black and white oxford flats are not hard to find but having 3 panels in it is probably the biggest selling point of this pair. I really like the slightly pointy head and also the glossy leather part. The pair looks so comfortable to wear and also, it looks classy.

Trendology: Jil Sander Transparent PVC iPad Case
I am not going to lie, for this season, I still want to have this accessory in my collection. (Yes, it is probably more expensive than my iPad, but...)
This PVC iPad case is from the S/S collection of Jil Sander. I like the combination of PVC and python print leather and it is definitely different than the other cases I have seen here. What's your verdict on it? Should I really consider to get it?

Walk the Walk: Jil Sander F/W 2012 Collection
It's such a bittersweet moment and Raf Simons has decided to exit Jil Sander with a bang!
In my artistic world, I see this collection as the flower blossom through Raf Simons' eyes. The colour palette is so soft and cheerful. Couture elements still apply on many of the clothes to make the Jil Sander girl to look elegant and modern. The last few black pieces are mirroring the dark and edgy menswear collection, with the PVC/black leather element to add a fetish vibe to the gowns.
If the rumour is true, this might be a good preview of what you can expect to see the new S/S 2013 Christian Dior collection from Raf. No matter what the future holds for Raf, at this moment, I think Jil Sander will have to find a way to top all the success Raf has created for this brand. Good luck to Raf and I am excited to see the return of Jil Sander!
Pros:
- I love the colour palette, so soft and feminine.
- Couture elements still exist in this collection, but pieces are highly wearable.
- The accessories are beautiful, especially the high heels with metallic accents.
- Even though the last part of the show is all about black gowns, the PVC and black leather have made the pieces unique.
- Oversized cotas can never look that good with such great colour combinations.
- The collection gives a very cheerful and elegant vibe.
Cons:
- None, such a dreamy collection!
Eye Candies:
- Pastel pink & white coat
- Pastel purple dress with white PVC
- White strapless dress
- High heels with metallic accents
- Nude & white dress with pastel pink knit sleeves
- Black gown with horizontal pleats

Trendology: Jil Sander Pre-Fall 2012 Collection
Raf Simons is using an editorial style to introduce the Jil Sander pre fall collection and I think it is a very refreshing idea. If you have a nostalgia on clothes you wore back in college times, you are in luck because Simons is here to fulfill your wish.
For the daywear, the J and JS batches (which you will remember them on varsity jackets) is the main element and every piece is just so simple, but as a fan of Jil Sander, you know the quality is going to be top class. Then when it comes to evening wear, all designs become rather conservative but still, they look very elegant and classy. To me, this whole collection creates a very cozy and warm vibe, and I think Ben Weller, the photographer, is part of the reason why I think this way. Overall, a very wearable and nice collection. It is a collection for you to build up your essential wardrobe pieces.

Trendology: Jil Sander 110mm Calfskin Buckled Low Boot Wedges
This pair of wedges is probably the most beautiful ones I have seen in this F/W season.
This accessory is part of the Jil Sander F/W collection and it is made of calfskin. What I like the most about this pair of boots is the golden buckle at the top. Also, the hollow rectangle at the heel area is also a big gimmick of the boots. What do you think?

Walk the Walk: Jil Sander S/S 2012 Collection
Ever thought of how a Jil Sander wedding gown would look like if Raf Simons decided to create one? Well, this S/S season Raf Simons is giving you a taste on how these gowns would look like.
You can still see the couture elements in this collection, but there is also a new element added to it: Picasso. I am in love with the abstract figure print on some of the pieces and the check, abstract pattern have also caught my eyes. The cutting in each piece is very well fitted, and the last few wedding gown inspired pieces stick closely to Jil Sander's philosophy: simple and neat, or as you call it minimalism.
This collection is totally wearable collection and I am looking forward to see what Raf Simons will do after this "couture trilogy".
Pros:
- I really like the white here. It makes the collection feel very pure.
- The abstract figure print stands out in this collection.
- I like the abstract and check pattern in this collection. They make the collection very modern and unique
- The wedding gown inspired dresses are the perfect representation of the Jil Sander brand.
Cons:
- I kinda of miss the bright colour from the S/S 2011 collection. I wish there were a splash of it.
Eye Candies:
- The "wedding gowns" at the end of the show
- The abstract figure knit top
- White poplin collar pencil dress
- The boots

Trendology: Jil Sander Satchel
Jil Sander is really having some amazing accessories this season.
Today, this Satchel has caught my eyes. I like the wool material (same material to create the collection) and the marine colour (blue/grey) is making this bag very classy. I also like how the opening of the bag is extended and folded over. There is a large compartment and a small zipped section inside the bag. Even though I would want to get it for this season, unfortunately, I have already purchased another bag for this season. Click here if you want to purchase it.

Trendology: Jil Sander Men's Weekend Bag
I am pretty much under Jil Sander's spell this season. At this moment, I just can't help but to keep staring at the amazing accessory collection.
Raf Simons has transformed a boring weekender into something very funky and nice. Instead of using nylon, Raf uses yellow (with some grey accent) virgin wool for the shell of the bag. Other than virgin wool, black leather is also used for the handle and side pockets. I am in love with the color and also it looks very functional to me. While the price tag for this item is not your average weekender, but if you are a fashion follower, you may want to get it from Oki-ni.

Ray of Inspirology: Jil Sander F/W Promotion Campaign
The new Jil Sander F/W promotion campaign has arrived and the series is shot by Willy Vanderperre. Guerrino Santulliana and Daria Strokous are the Jil Sander boy and girl this season. The photos look very abstract as usual (two photos just show the legs and I can only use the word artistic to describe them) and the mood is quite dark here. Somehow, when I look at the photos, all I can think of is Christmas. What do you think?

Artology: [ posterism ] Part 1
Spiro Halaris is doing something great again but this time, it is not about fashion illustration (still related to fashion though). Instead, he is creating some abstract arts to represent different fashion houses.
According to Spiros' description, he is "creating a series of 10 A4 campaign-like posters each representing one fashion house and their recent influences on the fashion industry". At this moment, he has done 5 of them and they are Prada, Alexander McQueen, Jil Sander, Givenchy and Marc by Marc Jacobs. My personal favorite has to be Jil Sander since I can feel the summer breeze when I look at the image. I am looking forward to see the second part of this project. Well done!

Trendology: Jil Sander Milly Formal Show Jacket
When it comes to minimalism fashion, Raf Simons is always the perefect designer to show you the definition of this style!
This men's Jil Sander milly formal show jacket is from the S/S 2011 collection. It looks very normal at the first glance but there are a few key points that have caught my attention. The first element is the belt which gives nice touch to the blazer. Then there are the white stripe and pink florescent internal placket detailing at the back which give a kick to the piece. The blue works for me here and you can definitely match it with a pair of khaki or black dress pants if you are going to a forma event. Click here if you want to purchase this blazer.

Walk the Walk: Jil Sander F/W 2011 Collection
It's a ski season for the Jil Sander's girls! For this coming F/W season, The pieces have become less couture looking but instead, the ski wear concept is injected to the collection. Instead of the futuristic direction, Raf is doing a rather classic collection with amazing pieces that are simple in design with high quality materials. Out of all the pieces, the floral print wedge heels will for sure be one of the items you will see in editorials in the coming months! What do you think?
Pros:
- Bright color palette continues in this collection.
- The wedge heels are great for this coming season and the floral prints one is probably the signature of this season.
- Some of the sweaters are very nice and they give me a very refreshing feeling.
- Still loving the simple design, yet the fashion house continues to to focus on high quality materials.
Cons:
- The collection is slight not very cohesive.
- The shape of a particular dress does not work for me.
Eye Candies:
- The yellow sweater
- The black knit top
- The wedge heels

Trendology: +J S/S 2011 Menswear Collection
Jil Sander continues to work with Uniqulo this season and it seems like the collaboration is leaning towards military style!
Right now Uniqulo has released the photos of the menswear collection and even though the design is still simple, the pieces to me are more practical and functional. Out of all the pieces I have seen so far, I have my eyes on the 2 tones vest. It is something that I definitely will wear and hopefully someone can bring this to me from New York.
The collection will be on sale on January 26 and hopefully someone can get me some pieces back here.
