StyleNotes[Cheat Sheet]: Capsule Collections!

It looks like collaboration collections will be a hit this year!

Banana Republic is once again teaming up with Janie Bryant to produce a capsule Mad Men collection. The womenswear will be inspired by Megan Draper from the hit TV series and judging from the promotion images, I believe this collection is going to sell like hot cakes. The collection will hit stores on February 27! [Read Here]

Are you ready for it? I sure am! (source: StyleNotes)

Finally, Rihanna is teaming up with MAC Cosmetics to produce a few make-up collections (yes, a few, not just a one time deal). I am looking forward to see what they are going to produce in the near future. Should be fun! [Read Here]

I wasn't surprised byt this collaboration, more like what took them so long? (source: StyleNotes)

Fashionist [On The Go]: Hello RIhanna

It's time to dig out some cool stories from the Fashionist this week!

The new Emporio Armani underwear and jeans campaign is out and Rihanna continues to be the face of this brand. The photos are shot by Mert & Marcus in black and white and yeah, I think Rihanna looks pretty good here. [Read Here]

Oh Mert & Marcus, you make Rihanna pretty again (source: the Fashionist)

So last Sunday was the Golden Globe and of course, all eyes were on the red carpet. To be honest, I think this year's read carpet was not as good as the previous years since a lot of celebrities were playing safe. Out of all the ladies, I think Emma Stone and Tilda Swinton (now, don't even get me started why she is on the worst dressed list...) were the best. [Read Here]

Oh and SMG was very daring that night, I like! (source: the Fashionist)

The above are just 2 stories from the Fashionist, be sure to check out the website from time to time to read more fashion stories.

Fashionist [On The Go]: Oh it's Rihanna!

It's Friday and it's time for me to bring you the most interesting news I found on The Fashionist this week!

As you know, Rihanna has replaced Megan Fox to be the spokesperson of Emporio Armani jeans and underwear and the campaign is finally out on the street. After looking at the campaign, all I can say is, the images are not that bad at all. This series is shot by Steven Klein. [Read Here]

Even though the campaign is not bad, I still miss Megan Fox. (source: The Fashionist)

Fashionist[On The Go]: Another VS Angel Is Taking Off!

It's time to dig out some interesting stories from The Fashionist this week!

The new wave of F/W promotion campaign is starting to show up in magazines and Candice Swanepoel is one of the new faces joining the high fashion campaign war. The VS angel is now landing the lead female role in the latest Tom Ford campaign. While I am a bit on the fence this campaign, it is wonderful to see her showing up in a high fashion ad. [Read Here]

This campaign also surprise me because I cannot recognize it is shot by Mert & Marcus (source: The Fashionist)

Goodbye Megan Fox, hello Rihanna! Emporio Armani has made an announcement this week that Rihanna will be the new face for the underwear and jeans. I am a fan of the singer and the brand but I am not too sure how the chemistry will work out when putting these 2 names together. Only time will tell... [Read Here]

What do you think? An upgrade? (source: The Fashionist)

Fashionist[On The Go]: A Tribute To Alexander McQueen With Daphne

It's Friday so this means it is another fresh edition of Fashionist [On The Go]! McQueen fans, get ready to read the follow news...

Recently Markus Klinko & Indrani have shot a rather artistic photo set featuring Daphne Guinness. The shots are very haunting, yet beautiful at the same time. Also, the duo has shot a video featuring Daphne and named it as A Tribute to the Spirit of Alexander McQueen which I think is a very breathtaking video. What do you think? [Read Here]

I always think Daphne is the perfect muse for McQueen, agree?

As many of you may know, the cover girl for April's issue of Vogue is Rihanna and finally her editorial is out on the web. I really like the cover but am slightly disappointed by the editorial. What do you think? [Read Here]

I expect a little more from Annie Leibovitz, so... (source: The Fashionist)

Please come back next week, same time for another edition of Fashionist [On The Go]!

Ray of Inspirology: W February 2010 with Rihanna

We all know Rihanna is back on track this year and she has done one shoot with GQ in 2010 already. The latest editorial shoot she has done is for W Magazine and instead of showing her wild side (but I have to admit she still has a bit in this shoot), she is showing more of her elegant side. While looking at her photos, her song wait your turn just starts sining in my brain.

The cover really attracts me because the Gucci dress she is wearing there blends so well the the background and because of her skin tone, it makes her look so outstanding here. The editorial shoot inside the magazine is all black and white and I love the effect. If you are a Rihanna fan, you will not want to miss this spread. This shoot is done by Craig McDean.

Wave of Inspirology: Hard

Sometimes I do wonder if there is any way to blend high fashion with military clothing to create an out of your mind fusion fashion. My question has been answered finally and I cannot take my eyes off this video. This is the latest video from Rihanna and the song is called Hard. The tune is very catchy, and the video is far more interesting than I have expected.

If you are planning to do a military shoot and need inspiration, this video is definitely one of the research items that should appear on your list. This is also one of the finest video in 2009. Enjoy.

Ray of Inspirology: Saturday Night Live: Blake Lively & Rihanna

Almost every Saturday night, I will be sitting in front of the TV and watch the latest episode of Saturday Night Live. I like to see different people hosting the show and the skits are always full of entertainment elements.

Recently, I have also started to focus another element of the show: the photos that are shown on TV before each segment starts. Those photos are shot by Mary Ellen Matthews and I really love the cross processing techniques she uses for the photos.

Just past this Saturday, Blake Lively is  the host of the show with Rihanna as the musical guest.  Here I want to share some of the photos I like from this show.

All photos are courtesy of NBC.
