Wave of Inspirology: Electric Holiday at Barneys New York

I have been hoping this kind of collaboration will happen in real life and it's finally here! After months of promotion, the Barneys New York holiday video is finally unveiled today!

As you may know, this short animation is a collaboration between Disney and Barneys New York. Minnie Mouse is the center of this story line and the story is about Minnie looking at a Lanvin dress and dreams about walking on the runway in Paris. A lot of fashion celebrities such as Anna Dello Russo, Sarah Jessica Parker, Lady Gaga and Bryan Boy make a guest appearance in this animation.

If you want to know what is each Disney character wearing in this video, here is the list:

Minnie Mouse - Lanvin (Alber Elbaz)
Mickey Mouse - Balenciaga (Nicolas Ghesquiere)
Goofy - Balmain (Olivier Rousteing)
Daisy Duck - Dolce & Gabbana
Snow White - Nina Ricci (Peter Copping)
Cruella de Vil - Rick Owens
Tiana - Proenza Schouler

Also, don't miss out the Electric Holiday collection as 25% of the sales wil lgo to the American Red Cross disaster relief.

Trendology: Rick Owens Metallic Grey Pull On Wedges

I really like the Rick Owens items Ssense buyers buy for this season and here is another pick from me.

I am completely in love with this metallic grey pull on wedges. The design might be simple but I really like the round toe design and also the Calf-high textured leather. I know a lot of people like to wear black ensembles in the winter so if you put this pair of boots on, I promise it will inject a new energy to your look. Please visit Ssense for more information.

Trendology: Rick Owens Silver Leather Biker Jacket

Biker jacket always helps to enhance a person's edgy image and this one from RIck Owens is a perfect example.

The silver leather is giving off a very futuristic vibe and I love the asymmetric spread collar. The tonal ribbed wool banding at sleeves helps to give a fresh look to a biker jacket. If you have $2.5k to spare, I recommend you get this jacket before it is sold out.

Trendology: Rick Owens Bomber Blazer

I don't usually say Rick Owens' piece will fit my style but I find this bomber blazer suits my style a lot! The cropped blazer has both the elegant and edgy elements in it as the front part it is the classy blazer look and the back has the bomber jacket shape. If you are a Rick Owens fan, you probably will want to click here and purchase it.

Ray of Inspirology: Kris Van Assche For Interview

Without a doubt, I am a fan of Kris Van Assche's works and it is very interesting to read this interview done by Rick Owens for the latest issue of Interview. If you are a fan of Kris or Dior Homme or both, I am sure you will not want to miss it.

Paolo Roversi shoots the photos for this interview and I love his new take on Dior Homme. The images are darker, more mysterious and they totally suit my taste. I wonder if the promotion campaign will be something like this too... What do you think?

Walk the Walk: Rick Owens F/W 2011 Collection

It is interesting that I feel the vibe in this Rick Owen's collection is lighter and more joyful. One of the reasons is probably because of the lighter color palette. I am loving the puffer top design, it is very innovative. Every looks is still very Rick Owens and because of that, you know not a lot of people can pull those looks off. Overall, I think this is a very solid collection and I am excited to see some pieces on editorials in the coming future.

Pros:
- Love the color block design
- The color palette is great. It is a bit lighter but still can associate to Rick Owens right the way.
- The puffer pieces are great! Brilliant design.
- Those boots are eye catchy.

Cons:
- Would love to see a little bit more design on the skirt.

Eye Candies:
- "Fingerless" gloves
- cape like sleeves top
- The puffer top
- The boots

Walk the Walk: Rick Owens F/W 2011 Collection

Rick Owens' latest menswear collection is true to the designer's vision which it has the gothic and dark vibe. The additional of the metal plates as the decoration has given an edgy vibe to some of the pieces.

Pros:
- There are some very interesting silhouette in this collection.
- The metal plates decoration is enhancing the whole collection.
- The mixed material for coats. That has to be the major trend for both Paris and Milan fashion week.
- The puffer collar for the knitwear. I think that is a cool touch.

Cons:
- Would love to see a splash of one single color other than black and white (like S/S 2011 women's collection)
- Not a big fan of the boots and the baggy pants.

Eye Candies:
- White leather duffle coat
- Black top with metallic plates accents.
- Puffer collar top
- Oversized top with big white stripes

Trendology: Rick Owens S/S 2011 Collection

It must be the maneater goddess in the Rick Owens' tribe!

Unlike the previous collection, this season the garments are more commercial and approachable to the public. Instead of drapes, you see a lot of structured cuts here. The lines are simple and crisp here but that not mean this collection is losing Rick Owen's gothic style touch. One of the eye popping elements in this collection is the dark green color. It makes me feel like these goddess are coming from the forest and they are ready to hunt for their preys (look at their bone hair decorations!)

Are you ready for the manhunt tribe?

Trendology: Chrome Hearts x Rick Owens Collaboration Sneakers

Finally, I can find a pair of sneakers that can replace my Converse but the price tag...

A collaboration between Chrome Hearts and Rick Owens, this high top is full of silver embellishments. I am loving the shape of it and also the silver cross (well, that's one of the signature pieces of Chrome Hearts) on the shoe tongue. You can find this pair of sneakers in Chrome Hearts flagship stores and I am so interested in the price tag for this. Anyone?

Trendology: Rick Ownes: Shiny Washed Calf Ankle Sneakers

Dear Rick Owens,

I would love to know how you can think of creating this pair of sneakers? Have you been visiting the alien ships lately because I feel like these shoes are from another world. The look of them is so futuristic so I am just wondering have the aliens brought you to the future. Regardless, I am totally in love with this shoes and I would love to receive a pair in the future. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Marcus

Enough Said. If you want to get a pair of this shiny washed calf ankle sneakers, you can purchase it for 640 Euro at Luisaviaroma online store. Bravo work!

Trendology: Rick Owens Women Fall/Winter 2010 Collection

The first thing that comes to my mind when seeing the photos of this runway show is: wow, the makeup is making the models look so fierce! Then I know this collection is all about power and shows the fierce side of the models.

This collection somehow reminds me of the female Jedi from the Star Wars series. I feel like Rick Owens is  trying to re-modify the Jedi suit and I think it works out very well. Most of the pieces in this season are about geometric shapes (from cutting to pattern). I have my eyes on the vest where a lot of geometric shapes are strapped to it. I think that is very refreshing and it totally gives me the punk and edgy feeling.

Another main focus for this collection is the triangular pattern leggings. Even though the pattern is simple, I am sure this is one of the trendy pieces you will see on the street soon because it is extremely easy to match other clothing and it makes your legs very outstanding.

Here are some of my favorites and you can click here to view the full collection.

Trendology: Rick Owen Men's Fall 2010 Paris

Rick Owen's collection is one of the quiet, but excited piece. In this collection, he found the perfect balance between two great oppositions - gothic and romance. To express this idea thoroughly, the materials and colours of this collection are in great contrast - fur and leather, black and white - often they are put together to show tension.

Here are some of the great pieces from the collection.
