Ray of Inspirology: Roberto Cavalli F/W 2012 Promotion Campaign

Roberto Cavalli has released the F/W 2012 campaign images and I love them a lot! The campaign is shot by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin and it features supermodel Daria Webowy. I love the twins idea and also the forest background is really eye popping! What do you think?

Walk the Walk: Roberto Cavalli S/S 2013 Menswear Collection

Roberto Cavalli S/S 2013 collection is very shinny and cool!

Recently, I really like Cavalli's new direction on the menswear. The prints are becoming more abstract and clean but remain the rock and roll aesthetic. For this season, pastel colours are used to balance out the hard edge prints which I think is great! The cuttings of the suit and blazer continue to be impeccable and I wish I could have a few of the plain colour suits in my wardrobe next season. What do you think?

Pros:
- The prints continue to be abstract and simple, which makes me think the brand has truly evolved to another new level (especially in love with the bubble print).
- I am surprised to see some soft colours in this collection. They balance out the edgy prints from this collection.
- Without a doubt, there is still a strong rock and roll vibe in this brand and I love it!

Cons:
- I wish there were are few more selections on the shoes.

Eye Candies:
- Bubble print suit
- Lavender suit
- Green/purple/black blazer

Trendology: Just Cavalli Resort 2013 Collection

So far, other than Chanel and Balenciaga, Just Cavalli is the other brand that has caught my attention with its resort collection.

Cavalli continues to use bold animals prints for this collection and other than that, plant prints (Venus flytraps and "Garden of Eden" palms) are also introduced to some of the pieces. However, if you are not a fan of the prints, there is also a white series which captures my heart with the "crack" design on some of the pieces.

Overall, this is a very refreshing collection.

Walk the Walk: Roberto Cavalli F/W 2012 Menswear Collection

Just when I thought S/S 2012 collection was the best for Roberto Cavalli, after seeing the F/W 2012 runway images, my decision has changed. This, is the collection.

Exaggerated prints is no longer the main factor of this fashion house. Instead, it is all about tailoring, the use of materials and the subtle details. The entire collection is still very rebellious and the subtle crocodile skin patten on some of the pieces has really impressed me. The silhouette is slightly softer and I like it a lot. Of course, the yellow, blue and pink have really spiced up  the pieces in this collection.

It will be very interesting to see how Roberto, Daniele and Eva will do to top this collection. I am excited!

Pros:
- The cutting is flawless, it makes the Cavalli man looks very strong, edgy and bold.
- I love the use of the colours.
- The subtle animal element is really impressive and I am very glad Daniele is taking this direction.
- The zebra suit is really breathtaking

Cons:
- So there is yellow, blue and pink, I was expecting orange or red to be in part of this collection too.

Eye Candies:
- Pink jacket
- Zebra print suit
- Crocodile print pants
- Yellow suit

Ray of Inspirology: Roberto Cavalli F/W 2011 Campaign

Oh, so pretty!

The latest promotion campaign for Robert Cavalli's F/W 2011 collection is out and the images are breathtaking! The three models for this campaign are Karen Elson, Natasha Poly and Mariacarla Boscono and they are shot by Mert and Marcus. I feel like I am in a fantasy land (with a dark twist) when I look at the images and I love the gradient effect on the background. This campaign is definitely screaming for the best campaign for this season. What do you think?

Walk the Walk: Roberto Cavalli S/S 2012 Menswear Collection

I must admit, I am deeply in love with Roberto Cavalli's S/S 2012 collection and I would love to have almost every piece in my closet.

For this season, it seems like Cavalli wants to strip down his signature prints to create a very timeless, calssic collection. The color palette is very vibrant, and I think this is what men should wear in the spring and summer time. The cutting is very good and I also like the patch works or python leather on the jackets. Well, if you like prints, you can still get them but they are no longer in exaggerated graphic prints. Instead, you get stripes and geometric prints (on the lapel of the blazers).

Overall, this is a very modern, calssic Italian collection. I know those pieces will fit my body frame. Bravo!

Pros:
- Amazing color palette. I love the fuchsia and yolk yellow a lot!
- The cutting of the suits is great.
- I like the python leather on the jacket and pants.
- The stripes print is great! I can see a lot of people able to carry those looks.

Cons:
- I am not a big fan of the shoes.

Eye Candies:
- Python sweater
- Stripes shirts
- Cream sport jacket with python leather
- Fuchsia suit

Trendology: Crystal Lovers - Roberto Cavalli Dress

Luisaviaroma is working with a group of leading designers from around the world,  featuring Swarovski Elements and artist Felice Limosani.  The project is called The Crystal Lovers.  Out of that much of fantastic designs, I have my eyes on this dress by Roberto Cavalli.  Made out of silk and mesh-like fabric, and of course Swarovski Crystals are used to bring out the luxurious and elegance of the dress.  I love it, and it's available at Luisaviaroma for CAD$20040.62.  Now we all know how luxury it is.

Trendology: The Fall Lace

What do we know about the Fall trend in the year of 2010? Getting yourself a couple of lace pieces will not be a wrong decision to make.  The light and thin sexy lace is going to be contrasting with the rather thick and heavy jacket in fall, as well as it would go well with the boots (or even the hot over-the-knee boots). Any item that can be put on our bodies are offering in lace.  Let's look at our favourite lace items of the season!

Roberto Cavalli Sheer Lace Leggings matches perfectly with bold colour coat or top.

Valentino has their lace collection earlier this year since this pair of pumps, they're continuing it to the fall with trench, handbag and rain boots.

We cannot miss our beloved Alexander McQueen.  This simple pump has demonstrate the ladies' elegant but does not lack of a punk style from the brand.

Lace does not necessarily have to be in black.  Miu Miu has showed a very good example here with this cute purple lace dress.

What's more evident than this Lash Queen Mascara Sexy Blacks by Helena Rubinstein on showed us how important lace is in this fall?

Ray of Inspirology: Roberto Cavalli F/W 2010 Full Promotion Campaign

It's here, the full set of Roberto Cavalli promotion campaign is finally here!

Just like the ones I have shown on the blog, the photos are dramatic and Gisele is pretty much striking her fiercest pose in front of the fire background. For those of you who have not seen the previous post yet, this series is shot by Mert and Marcus (acid hue technique is used here, so is easy to recognize their style).

Now you have seen the complete series, what do you think of the photos?

Ray of Inspirology: Roberto Cavalli F/W 2010 Promotion Campaign

This promotion campaign starts to grow on me and I have finally decided to write about it.

These 2 photos are from the latest set of Roberto Cavalli F/W promotion campaign. They are photographed by Mert an Marcus featuring Gisele. As you can see, the acid hue technique is once again applied here but this time, I feel the ad is very sharp and strong. On a side note, I am still thinking in one of the photos, Gisele is riding on a horse (the white drape gown, that white part is what misled me).

I still see a horse here...

Trendology: Roberto Cavalli Cruise 2011 Collection

Love, love, love this Cruise Collection by Roberto Cavalli!

The prints for this collection is amazing and I am sure all eyes are on the 2 jumpsuits that are displayed here. The color combination has definitely given me a breezy spring feeling and the styles are making the girls look very chic. I am sure this collection will look great in editorial (if I ever get a chance to find them).

Trendology: Roberto Cavalli Swarovski crystal rose ring

I believe no girls will resist this ring from Roberto Cavalli. This pink rose is made of lacquered resin and it is surrounded by Swarovski crystals. If you wear this ring on the street, I am sure everyone's eyes will be staring at the ring.

Unfortunately, the ring is sold out on Net-A-Porter at the moment; however, I do recommend you to check the site everyday to see if they are coming back with more stocks! The price for this ring is USD$495.
